leaving the city I loved. Leaving the self injurious love:
I had with myself & the city.
An onslaught of nostalgia:
no more.
I felt the mountains sadness:
I felt her whole sadness.
No longer can I look at beauty without feeling a tinge of sadness.
For I thought I could escape back to an innocent beauty if only I could feel the serenity
& see the peace of nature I had so longed for.
& everyone knows there is no real escape:
Except to confront your darkest self and accept it.
be with it.
to be with one.
